Late summer newsletter

Differential pairs, MacroFab webinar, new stack-ups, and more!

Late summer newsletter

A roundup of Quilter updates and improvements from August and September.

1/ Differential pairs

We recently added support for stack-ups, impedance control, and differential pair routing to Quilter. This means that Quilter can now:

  • automatically detect differential pairs in your schematic,
  • calculate and implement the correct width and spacing for each stack-up it explores according to your requirements,
  • export stack-up details to your board file upon download.

2/ New stack-ups: CircuitHub + 8/10-layer stacks

We added several new fabricator-defined stack-ups to our library, including new layer stacks from CircuitHub, which provides quick-turn prototyping with PCBA lead times as low as 3 days.

New advanced 8- and 10-layer stacks are now also available in Quilter for select fabrication partners including CircuitHub and Macrofab!

Speaking of Macrofab...

3/ Register for our webinar with MacroFab!

Join Sergiy Nesterenko (Quilter CEO) and Chris Church (MacroFab Chief Product Officer) for this live discussion of next-generation AI design and manufacturing tools and how they're revolutionizing PCB prototyping by eliminating bottlenecks, mistakes, and delays from the R&D process.

The webinar will occur on Wednesday, Oct 23 at 12:00 PM CDT. Reserve your spot today!

4/ A new Quidesign: QSP32

Meet the QSP32, a custom ESP32-based development board imagined by Sophi Kravitz and designed entirely by Quilter's AI.

Wondering how Quilter's power and signal routing stood up? Check out our complete QSP32 blog post below for a full write-up, including validation of all Quilter-designed signals (power, I2C, serial) and access to all input/output files used in the project.

5/ Find us at PCB West!

Members of Quilter's product, marketing, engineering, and executive teams will be at PCB West in Santa Clara next week on Tuesday, 10/8 and Wednesday 10/9.

While we won't be exhibiting (this year), we'd still love to meet with you! If you'd like to speak with us, reply to this email with your interest and availability.

Coming soon...

  • Bypass capacitors: An early version of bypass capacitor detection and placement is live in production! Give it a try.
  • Single-ended impedance: We'll soon support automatic impedance control calculations and routing for single-ended, 50Ω impedance-controlled signals.
  • Physics Rule Checks (PRCs): You already know Design Rule Checks (DRCs), which ensure compliance with user-defined design rules. Get ready for Physics Rule Checks (PRCs), which ensure Quilter layouts meet pre-defined physics tolerances for each constraint type defined during Circuit Comprehension.
  • 3D body support: We'll soon update the position of 3D bodies (not just component footprints) for all Altium and KiCAD layout candidates generated by Quilter.

Visit our product portal to view and vote on our product roadmap!

And as always, thanks for being a part of Quilter's open beta!
